This is an update of the Letter to the Reader, December 13, 2012.

Today in National Review Online, Stanley Kurtz called attention to a series that Michelle Malkin has started about the Common Core, the name of a national curriculum. There is more about this here in Malkin’s website and in “Common Core Corrupts: The Obama administration is corrupting education.” by Michelle Malkin, National Review Online, January 23, 2013.

So far, Texas is one of the very few states in the United States not involved with Common Core.

In “Why We Fight” (The Telegraph, January 1, 2013), James Delingpole seems to indicate that he is prepared to begin another year of participation in the debate about catastrophic anthropogenic global warming (cagw). Discussion about cagw will be continued from time to time here on these Memorial Website pages as well.

With the reelection of Barack Obama in November, the debate about him is likely to continue to be a vigorous one, not in the MSM, which for the most part continue to support him, but rather in the internet and in books. To the extent that Obama is a follower of Saul Alinsky methods, which discourage disclosures of beliefs and goals, one might expect surprises. So following the issues that may arise may be important.

Participation by readers in discussions here is strongly encouraged. Please see Posting Instructions for more information.
